                                  Project Manager (IT Business)

                                   
                                   

                                  This position is responsible for Project Management and Execution of building services construction projects in particular, mission critical data centre projects. Main roles include detailed project design after receiving Purchase Order (oversee the design office), procurement of the equipment/ancillaries, schedule and cost control of the installation, start-up and hand-over.

                                  Job Responsibilities:

                                  • Scheduling of Installation, Start-up and Hand-over (35%)
                                    • Contact customers/end users and coordinate the engineering and schedule of the project
                                    • Contact all relevant parties including contractors, transportation companies, design firms and internal resources for installation, start-up and hand-over
                                    • Manage scheduling for installation, start-up and hand-over
                                    • Schedule Tracking & Identify Critical Milestones
                                    • Facilitate the compilation of the Project Operating and Maintenance Manuals
                                  • Procurement of Equipment/Ancillary (30%)
                                    • Determine system design including specifications of all the equipment and services
                                    • Procurement of equipment/ancillary
                                    • Supervise transportation, installation, wiring, start-up, testing commissioning, & network integration of the equipment (dependent on the scope of work)
                                    • Manage project cost & Profit Margin
                                    • Manage quality of equipment/ancillary, installation quality
                                  • Reporting (35%)
                                    • Provide timely reporting of the project to all stakeholders using a standardised Project Management Methodology
                                    • Identify the encountered risks and able to provide best solutions to mitigate the risks

                                  Job Requirements:

                                  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering with 5-10 years experience in Electrical or Mechanical Contracting, both hands-on and at supervisory level
                                  • Must have proven experience in managing turnkey or construction projects
                                  • Project Management Experience in Mission Critical Environment. Possess Technical Professional Certificate would be added advantage
                                  • Certification and some technical training including Generator Systems, HT & LV Systems, Large UPS Systems, Chiller Systems, Fire Protection Systems etc would be added advantage. Knowledge on how these systems interact with critical network loads, able to integrate all Mechanical & Electrical System into single  Mission Critical Facilities to support Customers Requirement
                                  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio or CAD, e-mail systems, Microsoft Project and Web based applications 
                                  • Possess:
                                    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills/interpersonal communication skills
                                    • Ability to read technical blueprints and diagrams
                                    • Possess past experience in cost avoidance, savings, able to counter-propose customer with the best efficient & economical solutions in consideration of constraints
                                    • Knowledge of local Installation Standard, Good Practice & Authorities Requirement
                                    • Able to work with Regional Project Team for the Recommended Best Practices & Standard Documentation
