                                  Technical Support & Drafting Engineer (IT Business)

                                   

                                   
                                   

                                  Reporting to the Solutions Engineering Manager and Head of Service Delivery, this position works closely with the Sales, Solutions, Project & Service Teams in providing technical pre and post sales support on all drafting needs in relation to the successful selling and installation of technology solutions.

                                  Job Responsibilities:

                                  • Design and configure solutions using ISX Designer to formulate the solution offering made up of power, cooling, racking, management and services for customers
                                  • Liaise with third party sub-contractors to obtain quotations and design specifications for products outside of Schneider’s manufactured range to complete a customer solution
                                  • Create and maintain the third party items list in ANC database
                                  • Translate solution concept into detailed technical specification using our various tools
                                  • Providing drafting needs on solution design to sales teams for their proposals
                                  • Working with solution engineers, architects, sales project and service engineers for drafting design and solutions
                                  • Provide support to engineers for on-going design changes during implementation
                                  • Responsible for preparation of proper documentation and filing of all drafts including shop drawings and as-built documentation
                                  • Attend site meeting & site survey for proper design drawing and documentation
                                  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Schneider products to fulfill the support functions above

                                  Job Requirements:

                                  • Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering is preferred
                                  • 1 year experience in technical pre-sales environment and drafting
                                  • Experience in drafting design using AutoCad & Visio is essential
                                  • Knowledge of AC circuits or DC circuits; and basic knowledge of electrical power and mechanical (air conditioning) systems
                                  • Single and 3-phase power experience; and basic data centre design concept an added advantage
                                  • Good English writing, speaking and reading skills (other languages encouraged)
                                  • Excellent interpersonal skills
                                  • Proactive and takes initiative
                                  • Able to understand the challenges and needs of sales/projects and committed to resolving these barriers through team work
